James Falzone, clarinetist and composer, and his group Allos Musica, have just released their newest album, Lamentations. You can listen to a 10-minute interview with James (my composition teacher in 2007-2008) and hear some of the music from the album at this site on WBEZ (Chicago).In this album James explores his interest in Arabic music. A past album, Klang: Tea Music (2009), which received great critical acclaim, explores jazz idioms. Vox Arcana: Aerial Age (2010), another recent release showcases some wild improvisations.
I am always amazed at James' productivity as well as his diversity of musical interests.
